Responsibilities:
- Lead KPO Process Safety and Risk Management programs, policies and guidelines with particular attention to hazard and risk management.
- Support design and operational integrity across KPO Directorates and enable compliance with the KPO Process Safety and Integrity Management Standard and Safety and Asset Integrity values.
- Liaise with the personnel within the Asset Integrity team to assure the KPO Process Safety and Integrity Management Standard are fully implemented.
- Provide process safety engineering support to and partnership with the asset integrity department, and projects, engineering and operations directorates. Use a range of tools and software for the evaluating risks (qualitative, quantitative and consequence analysis) and deliver adhoc technical notes to support the business improvement.
- Lead updates and reviews of the Operational Safety Cases and development of the RoK DSIU.
- Coordinate updates to Risk Department standards and documentation. Identify and develop process safety improvement opportunities.
- Partner with external contractor companies to deliver risk and process safety work on behalf of KPO.
- Lead the closure of Risk Department actions from external reviews and audits. Participate in Management of Change Reviews, barrier reviews and process safety audits. Support RoK DSIU audits.
- Lead third party independent verifications of process safety management system and ensure areas of deficiencies are highlighted.
- Coordinate department activities and support colleagues in the Risk Department as assigned. Develop and lead implementation of KPO process safety awareness and competence development programs.
- Ensure compliance of HSE deliverables with applicable specifications, codes and standards.
- Conduct (chair) and participate in safety and operability reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA). Coordinate updаtеand regular reviews of Risk and Technical Safety studies such as QRA, EERA and FERA.
- Input into budget consideration for HSE expenditure in respect to the areas that are the responsibility of this position, however the position carries no authority for the authorization of expenditure.
Education and work experience:
- Higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 4 years of work experience in the position of Process Safety Engineer.
Necessary knowledge:
- Onshore oil and gas upstream facilities;
- RoK and international codes, regulations, standards and best practices ;
- deep knowledge in developing and understanding and communicating consequence and risk based software models;
- engineering work processes, inter-discipline coordination, change management.
- EERA, FERA, Safety Case or DSIU development and implementation
- LOPA/HAZOP/HAZID techniques, Working knowledge of Risk Assessment techniques, incident investigation, auditing and safety management systems
Necessary skills:
- Engineering practice for project concept selection, FEED study, detailed design follow-on engineering and closeout;
- ability to manage contractor progress and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances;
- leadership, mentorship, team-building skills and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- Business partnering skills to coach, support and challenge colleagues in all KPO directorates and external contractors;experience of safety/risk based software (consequence and risk modelling software).
